One of our wonderful neighbors lit luminarias around our neighborhood yesterday evening and it was such a beautiful sight to see.
It really lifted my spirits since I worked until the 23rd and I was exhausted from it. I’m glad to be on vacation now though, I get to spend much quality time with my family.
From my family to yours, have a blessed Christmas.
We weren’t able to attend Christmas Eve services due to some factors not in our control but we will be watching the morning service online today and rejoicing in our Savior’s birth.
I’m beyond blessed this year with everything God has shown to us in our lives.
One of the things M and I have noticed since our move is that we lack community here. We have searched within our local church but when small groups do not meet close to our area (30 minutes minimum), it isn’t easy. Work schedules don’t help either.
We also don’t meet criteria for groups that do meet close to us, either as a couple or individually. For example,a young family small group meets less than 10 minutes from us but we don’t have children; MOPS isn’t somewhere I would fit in either.
With my new job, I can’t even attend PWOC here (I work close to the nearest active duty base here). We tried the Sunday school class for a bit but it is on summer break right now. It also didn’t fit our personal view of small group but we tried. 🙂 Maybe we’ll give it a second try this fall….
It is hard to get re-adjusted to a new area, church and community in only a few weeks. 🙁
Hopefully we can find something that will help us grow spiritually and as a couple that can fit our work and school schedules this semester.
Thank you to my military family for the prayers and support. My prayers and support are with you as well.
Many of ya’ll didn’t know us or know anyone on post but ya’ll gave us your shoulders to lean on and your hearts to comfort us. That is why I’m proud, even though we may not be directly involved, we are still there for each other.
The same for my military family.
Thank you for the texts and FB messages on my wall/direct messages to see if we were okay. We are fine. Just in disbelief. Praying for our fellow family members in this tragic time.
Thank you all.
Have a very beautiful weekend.
